Why should you buy
from us?

Because we can charge you less than most retail outlets will, since there is no middleman to take a large percentage of the retail price (Amazon can take up to 60% of retail price, just for listing a book).

You also save money because within the UK we give you postage & packing free (presently our only exception to this rule is the limited edition hardback of Alasdair Gray's Fleck).

This means that a book bought from us can be cheaper than a book bought from Amazon.

If you're overseas we charge a nominal amount (except for especially heavy or expensive-to-produce books) which means that, once P&P is added on, you rarely pay more than the UK recommended retail price.

But it also means that the publisher makes something resembling a small profit, and authors make decent royalties.

So buying from us supports both small publishers and authors; it ensures that everyone gets a fair deal – and that literary fiction is more likely to have a future.
